Woodlands Community Garden are excited to announce the start of our Bio-diverse spoken word classes taking place at our Community Garden on Thursday evenings.
The first two courses are
- performance poetry, 4 weeks starting 23rd May
- creative writing, 4 weeks starting 20th June
SUNDAY 19TH MAY 2-4pm Come along and witness the array of insects living right under your nose and learn why these often overlooked creatures are natural heroes. Part of our Bio-diverse programme, this free family friendly event is a collaboration with our friends at BugLife
Saturday 25th May Cycle Trip to Possil Marsh
meet at the garden at 1.30pm
Possil Marsh is a wild bird sanctuary consisting of marshland swamp and fen around a shallow freshwater lake. 150 different bird species have visited the marsh, 30 of which breed there now. If we are lucky we might see reed bunting, willow warbler and sedge warbler; not to mention unusual plant-life including orchids, ragged robin, and marsh cinquefoil.

SKILL SHARE SURVEY We are exploring ways of develop a skill share network for the Woodlands area where all members would be able to exchange goods, services and teaching without money. The skills do not have to be gardening-related, our garden would just be the hub for the network.
