About your trainers

Tim Cowen has worked in voluntary sector for 25 years. He has been manager of Woodlands Community Development Trust since 2011. He lead on the development of Woodlands Workspace, a vibrant new community and arts venue that has transformed an urban gap site that had lain empty for over 20 years.

Bruce Newlands is an award winning architect with over 17 years experience working with communities and Public sector partners to deliver a wide variety of projects from small multi-use hubs & gardens to youth centres and schools. He is also an accredited energy assessor with an interest in the energy efficiency and wider sustainability of buildings. His experience includes innovative technologies, building materials & renewables.

David Cook is a Chartered Surveyor and social entrepreneur who has spent his career developing and managing cultural and other social purpose buildings. After leading the multi-award winning Wasps Artists’ Studios for 23 years, he now runs his own consultancy, Cook Creative, advising social and creative organisations on business change and property development.
